Russian-Chinese business dialogue: new growth points

On August 6, 2025, a business meeting between representatives of the Russian and Chinese sides took place at the World Trade Centre in Moscow, organised by the Moscow–Beijing Business Cooperation Centre, the Interregional Public Organisation "Delovaya Rossiya" (Business Russia), and the Russian-Chinese Guild of Commerce (SOVED). The event was held under the auspices of the Russian-Chinese Chamber.

Russian participants:
  • Maxim Zakharov, Head of the Moscow–Beijing Business Cooperation Centre;
  • Maxim Barashev, Managing Partner of BBNP;
  • Alexey Naumov, Coordinator of the Organising Committee of the IMBRICS Forum;
  • Pavel Ustyuzhaninov, Executive Secretary of the Russian part of the Russian-Chinese Chamber.
The event was significant and provided a unique opportunity to establish business contacts, exchange best practices, and define strategic directions for cooperation between Russian and Chinese enterprises.

During the negotiations, the parties identified priority areas of cooperation: the development of trade and economic relations, scientific and technical partnership, and the exchange of production experience.
Key points of the event:
In the course of the meeting, a presentation of the IMBRICS Forum 2025 was held, where prospects for cooperation at the municipal level were discussed. The General Partner of the Forum is the Government of Moscow, represented by the Department for External Economic and International Relations of the City of Moscow.

Presentations were also given by Chinese companies interested in entering the markets of Russia and Moscow, which opens up new opportunities for partnership.

The Chinese delegation confirmed its interest in participating in the IMBRICS Forum 2025 and in implementing joint projects in mechanical engineering, the chemical and food industries, as well as in high-tech sectors. Particular attention was paid to expanding investment cooperation, creating sustainable production chains, and developing collaboration within the BRICS+ framework. All proposals developed will be submitted to the working groups of the Russian-Chinese Intergovernmental Commission.
