On 4 July 2025, the Media Centre of Moscow’s Situation Centre hosted the Russia-China business meeting "Development of Trade, Economic and Investment Cooperation", organised with participation from Moscow’s Department for External Economic and International Relations, the Russia-China Chamber, and the Organising Committee for IMBRICS Forum 2025.

The event brought together business representatives, government officials, investors and experts from Moscow and China’s provinces. A key discussion topic focused on developing international business cooperation through the BRICS platform.

Elena Belyakova, Head of the IMBRICS Forum Directorate, delivered a presentation outlining the agenda of the International Municipal BRICS Forum, which has been included in the official programme of BRICS chair countries since 2020.
"The IMBRICS Forum serves as a business platform developing effective commercial communications between BRICS nations and partner countries across Asia, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East. Our mission is to facilitate territorial integration, develop new urban growth strategies and stimulate sustainable economic development," stated Elena Belyakova.
The speaker detailed preparations for the 2025 Forum in Saint Petersburg’s ExpoForum convention centre, coinciding with the "Russian Industrialist" exhibition. The event expects over 6,000 delegates from dozens of countries and 89 Russian regions, featuring key tracks on digitalisation, transport, construction, healthcare, social development and international economic cooperation.

The meeting also featured investment project presentations, an award ceremony by the Russia-China Chamber, and B2B negotiations between Russian and Chinese entrepreneurs. Delegates discussed market expansion opportunities and cooperation in high-tech, infrastructure and logistics sectors.

The IMBRICS Forum confirmed its readiness to deepen Russia-China partnership at municipal and regional levels, providing effective tools for promoting international initiatives and integrating BRICS cities into a unified business environment.
