Russian-Chinese cooperation: new horizons in investment partnership

On 7 July 2025, in Moscow, a presentation on China’s investment potential was held, jointly organised by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Commerce and the Union of Chinese Entrepreneurs in Russia. The event took place in the Union’s conference hall and gathered representatives from key business entities and government institutions of both countries.

Key topics and agreements
The Chinese delegation outlined Beijing’s investment opportunities, placing emphasis on sectors such as technology, logistics, and infrastructure. The participants discussed plans to develop joint projects between Moscow and Beijing in trade and economic cooperation, and backed initiatives to launch new investment programmes.

Special attention was given to a presentation on the International Municipal BRICS Forum (IMBRICS Forum), which will serve as a key platform to reinforce collaboration between the nations. The Russian side invited Chinese partners to participate in the Forum. In turn, Chinese colleagues proposed that the Russian delegation take part in CIFTIS (China International Fair for Investment & Trade), scheduled for September 2025 in Beijing.

The event affirmed the mutual interest of China and Russia in deepening economic partnership. The agreements reached open up new opportunities for businesses and government bodies, strengthening bilateral ties. Participation in initiatives such as the IMBRICS Forum and CIFTIS will be important steps towards realising joint projects and further developing investment cooperation.
